FAQ and Troubleshooting

Can two people keep stats at the same time? Not yet — that arrives in a coming update. Today one scorekeeper enters the game, and anyone can follow it live with the game's code at lockerbook.app/watch (see Live view).

Families say the live page isn't updating. Check the Live link badge under your scoreboard. No signal means updates will catch up when you're back in range; Sign in to iCloud means this device isn't signed in (Settings → your name). Scoring is never affected.

I tapped the wrong player. Tap Undo, or long-press the line in the play-by-play and choose Delete, then enter it again.

The clock is off from the scoreboard. Tap the scoreboard → Adjust Clock and nudge it to match.

My phone died mid-game. Everything up to your last tap is saved. Reopen the game; the clock picks up from when it was running.

Why can't I record anything? Start the period first — the pads unlock once a half (or quarter) is running.

A player got a red card but still shows on the field. Make sure the card was entered for your team (not the opponent) and for the right player.

MaxPreps didn't match some players. MaxPreps matches by jersey number exactly as typed. 02 and 2 are different, so make your Lockerbook roster match MaxPreps, then share the file again.

Which sports does Lockerbook keep the book for? Fifteen: soccer, baseball, softball, basketball, football, volleyball, lacrosse, ice hockey, field hockey, wrestling, tennis, and bowling today, with track & field, cross country, and swimming & diving coming soon. See Choosing your sports.

Is Lockerbook only for high schools? No. School, college, and club/travel teams all use it. MaxPreps tools appear for high school teams, because MaxPreps covers U.S. high schools.

Does Lockerbook upload to MaxPreps by itself? Lockerbook makes the MaxPreps stats file. You upload it on MaxPreps under the game's Enter Stats, which takes about a minute. MaxPreps doesn't offer automatic syncing to partner apps.

How do I try Lockerbook without entering my team? Tap Try a Sample Team on the first screen, or Settings → Add a Sample Team. Every name in it is made up. Delete the team when you're done.

Does Lockerbook work without internet? Yes. Scoring, box scores, and exports all work offline.

How do I get my data onto a new phone? Data moves with an iCloud or computer backup/restore. A team you share with your coaching staff also stays in step on every device of everyone on it (see Teams and Rosters → Coaching staff).

How do I get help? Email contact@lockerbook.app, or tap Settings → Contact Support in the app.

What does Lockerbook cost? It's free during the beta. Coming soon, with every sport included in every plan: Coach $49.99 a year (1-month free trial), Club/Travel $124.99 a year for up to 6 coaches, and School for 30 coaches. Founding School price: $299/year for schools that sign up by October 1, 2027, locked while you renew. After that date, School is $399 a year. If a plan ends, nothing is deleted: you can still view and export everything. Schools get 30 days' grace. Fans always watch free. You can see the plans now in Settings → Plans & Pricing. We want Lockerbook for our whole school or club. Email contact@lockerbook.app with "School licensing" in the subject, or tap Settings → School & Club Licensing. Coming soon: the athletic director enters the key in Settings → School & Club License — one license key for your school or club, with a seat for each coach on your staff (see Choosing Your Sports).

Can Lockerbook connect to my MaxPreps account and pull my roster and schedule? Not yet. MaxPreps doesn't offer that to apps like Lockerbook today. You can import your roster from a spreadsheet and your schedule from your school's calendar link in Lockerbook, then send stats to MaxPreps with the stats file or the entry sheet. We've asked MaxPreps about a direct connection.

Where did my team go? Its sport may be turned off. Check Settings → Your Sports. Nothing is deleted.

Do practices count toward our record or stats? No. Practices are on the schedule for reference only. They aren't scored and never count in your record, stats, win chance, season notes or the media report. Imported events with "practice" in the title are marked as practices for you. See Your Schedule.
