Scoring Other Sports
Soccer has its own scoring screen (see Scoring a game). Every other sport uses the stat sheet: one button per stat, grouped the way coaches think about the game.
Baseball, softball, basketball, football, volleyball, lacrosse, ice hockey, field hockey, wrestling, tennis, and bowling are all ready for real games. Wrestling, tennis and bowling have screens of their own (below). Track & field, cross country, and swimming & diving are coming soon. Missing something? Email contact@lockerbook.app.
Baseball and softball: the inning header
At the top of the pad you get Top or Bottom of the inning, the outs in that half, the score, and a line score with runs, hits (H) and errors (E), visitors on top. Tap Out as outs happen; after three the header switches to the bottom half of the same inning, and after six it tells you the inning is over. Undo out takes one back. It's a marker for you — Lockerbook never ends an inning on its own, and the count never goes to MaxPreps. Tap Next Inning when you're ready. Tied after regulation? Keep going: extra innings are allowed until someone wins. If the home team leads after the top of the last inning, the header says so and you can tap Final.
- Grand Slam is instead of Home Run, not as well: tap one or the other.
- Pitches and Outs Pitched add to what the pitcher already has, and the entry shows "So far this game" so you can check the running total.
- Win, Loss, Save, Start, Complete Game and Shutout can be given to a pitcher once per game.
Baseball, softball and football have more buttons than fit on one screen, so the pad groups them (Batting, Running, Pitching, Fielding, Catching) and you switch groups with the picker above the buttons. It stays where you left it.
One tap, both players
Some plays belong to two (or three) players. Lockerbook asks for the second one as part of the same play, and Undo takes back the whole play:
- Football: after Pass Complete and the yards, pick who caught it — the catch gets the same yards, so passing and receiving always match. After Receiving TD, pick who threw it for the passing touchdown.
- Basketball: a made shot asks who assisted (or No assist).
- Hockey: a goal asks for up to two assists. Field hockey: one assist.
- Volleyball: Block Assist asks for the other blocker (and a third, if there was one). It's one point, and each blocker gets a block assist.
Tap Not sure or No assist to skip the second player.
Before the game
- Open your team → tap the game under Upcoming (or Start a Game).
- Pick the starting lineup (or batting order, wrestlers, or bowlers). In hockey, lacrosse, and field hockey, swipe right on your goalie and tap Set G.
- Check the format: quarters, periods, innings, sets, or games, and whether there's a clock. Then tap Ready.
Recording plays
- Tap Start (for example Start Q1, Start Inning 1, or Start Set 1).
- Tap a stat button, then the player. Players in your lineup are listed first; the rest of the roster is below. Tap Player not sure if you didn't see who it was.
- Some stats ask for a number:
- Football: yards for rushes, completions, receptions, and punts. Tap Loss for negative yards.
- Bowling: pins for a game.
- Boys' lacrosse: penalty time — tap 0:30, 1:00, 1:30… (the number is in seconds).
- Hockey: penalty minutes — tap 2, 4, 5 or 10. Use Bench minor when no player is charged.
- Baseball and softball: outs pitched (3 per inning) and pitches.
- A number that can't be right (a 301 bowling game, 700 seconds of penalty) is refused, so a typo doesn't change the stats.
- Buttons that score show their points (+1, +2, +3, +6). The score updates automatically.
- Opponent buttons record the other team's points. In hockey, lacrosse, and field hockey, an opponent goal counts against your goalie in net, and Shot Saved by Our Goalie counts as a save.
- Their scorers (hockey, lacrosse, field hockey): turn on Track Opposing Team Stats in Edit Team (or under Their Players when you set up a game). Their Goal then asks for the scorer's number: tap it from their roster, type it, or tap Not sure. The recap credits them by number only, and you can add or paste their roster under Their Players.
- Volleyball: kills, aces, and solo blocks score for you. Errors (attack, service, block, reception, ball-handling) give the point to the opponent and are charged to your player. The header shows the set, the points it's played to (25, or 15 in a deciding set, win by 2) and says when the set is won. End Set asks first if the set isn't won yet, and a tied set can't end. The scoreboard shows sets won.
- Basketball: the header shows team fouls this quarter for both teams, BONUS from the fifth foul of a quarter (the seventh of a half), and any player with four or more fouls. Technical Foul can go to Bench / coach.
- Lacrosse: boys' teams see faceoffs and timed penalties; girls' teams see draw controls and green, yellow and red cards. Girls' teams start with 2 × 25-minute halves and 12 players (change the team's format if your state plays quarters).
- Hockey, lacrosse, and field hockey: saves come only from the opponent's Shot Saved by Our Goalie, so nothing is counted twice. If you pull the goalie, pick Empty net when changing goalies.
- The clock stops at 0:00 in every sport except soccer, even if you forget to pause it, so goalie minutes stay right. Football overtime has no clock.
- Undo removes the last thing you entered (the whole play, if it had a second player). Long-press any play to delete it.

| Bowling | A match pad instead of buttons: a score for each bowler in each game, Baker team scores, and substitutions (see Bowling matches below) |
Bowling matches
- When you set up a bowling game, list every team bowling: tap Add Another School for a tri or quad match, and Add One of Our Squads to bowl Varsity and JV (or "Low Varsity") in the same match. Set how many bowlers each team uses in regular games and in Baker games.
- Pick the games (regular games first, then Baker games) and the scoring: Total pins, 27-point (Tennessee), 30-point (Michigan) or Custom. NFHS doesn't write bowling rules, so check your state association's; a new match starts with the same setup as your last one.
- Pick each squad's bowling order. Any bowler on your school's bowling rosters can bowl for any squad.
- During a game, tap a bowler's row to enter their score (0–300). For another school, enter each bowler's score, or tap Enter a team total instead. A Baker game is one team score.
- Tap ⇄ next to a bowler to substitute, before a game or partway through one (with the frame). Enter the pins bowled so far for the bowler coming out first, then the sub's. The app enforces the match's sub limit, won't let a removed bowler back in the same game, and won't put one bowler on two squads in the same game.
- The top of the pad shows the standings: total pins, and points for a points match. With three or more teams, every pair of teams is scored head to head. Your game's result is your first squad against the other schools.
- Box Score shows every team's game scores and each of your bowlers' games, series, average (full games only) and high game.
Wrestling duals
- Game setup lists the weight classes: NFHS boys' 14, NFHS girls' 14 or NCAA's 10, or your own list.
- On the pad, tap a weight to enter the bout: your wrestler, who won, and how: Fall (with the time), Forfeit, Injury default or Disqualification (6), Tech fall (5), Major decision (4), Decision (3, with the score) or Double forfeit (0). The team points go on the scoreboard.
- If the score and the method don't match NFHS margins (8 for a major, 15 for a tech fall), you'll see a note; nothing stops you, since states and youth rules differ.
- Team Point Deduction takes a point from either team.
- The other school's wrestler is never recorded. To fix a bout, tap it again and save; the newest entry counts.
Tennis duals
- Game setup lists the lines: 3 singles and 2 doubles for high school, 6 and 3 for college, or your own. Turn on Doubles point for college, where the doubles lines together are worth one point.
- Tap a line to enter it: your player (or both doubles partners), who won, how it ended (completed, retired, default or unfinished) and the set scores. A match tiebreak goes in as a set, like 10-7.
- Each line won is one point, so a doubles win counts once, not once per partner. The box score shows each player's singles and doubles record.
Shootouts (hockey and field hockey)
A game still tied when it's final shows Shootout. Pick the winner: the result becomes a win or a loss, and the score stays tied, as it's reported.
Fixing stats after the game
The head coach can tap Edit Stats on a final game to correct any play (see Fixing stats after the game). Reopen puts the game back in its last period with the clock stopped, for a game that isn't really over.
Box score and exports
- Box Score shows the score by period and a table for each stat group, with team totals and percentages (FG%, 3P%, FT%, hitting %, faceoff %, save % and goals against average). A Not sure row holds plays entered without a player, so the team line adds up. A dash means there's nothing to divide by yet.
- Export gives you a printable box score sheet and a spreadsheet (CSV).
- MaxPreps: high school baseball, softball, basketball, football, volleyball, lacrosse, ice hockey, and field hockey all make the MaxPreps stats file, using MaxPreps' own stat list for your sport. Record the stats during the game and the file is ready when the game is final. See Sending stats to MaxPreps.
