Sending Stats to MaxPreps
Lockerbook is built for MaxPreps. For high school teams, it turns a finished game into the file MaxPreps imports, and you upload it in one step.
| Sport | MaxPreps stats file |
|---|---|
| Soccer, Baseball, Softball, Basketball, Football, Volleyball, Lacrosse, Ice Hockey, Field Hockey | ✅ Ready |
| Wrestling, Tennis, Bowling, Track & Field, Cross Country, Swimming & Diving | MaxPreps doesn't import these stats from partner apps. Use the box score sheet. |
Turn it on: answer Yes to Will this team post stats to MaxPreps? on the team screen, or later in Edit Team → MaxPreps.
Open a finished game and tap Get MaxPreps File at the top (or ••• → MaxPreps & Export). When you mark a game Final, Mark Final & Get MaxPreps File takes you straight there.
Check the warnings
Lockerbook tells you if:
- the game isn't marked Final
- a player has no jersey number, or two players share one
- a goal or play has no player (a bench technical is fine)
- saves or goals against were recorded with nobody in goal
- a stat you recorded isn't in MaxPreps' list for your team (for example, draw controls on a boys' lacrosse team), so it stays in Lockerbook but won't upload
The other team's roster. You can paste the opponent's roster from MaxPreps before the game so their goals and assists are recorded by player. See Scoring a Game. Your MaxPreps file only carries your own team's stats; the other team's scorers appear by number in the entry sheet's scoring summary.
MaxPreps matches players by jersey number, exactly as typed. 02 and 2 are different numbers, so make your Lockerbook roster match your MaxPreps roster.
Option A — Stats file (recommended)
- Tap Share MaxPreps Stats File. Save it to Files, or AirDrop or email it to the computer you use for MaxPreps.
- On a computer, sign in to MaxPreps → your team → Schedule → the game → Enter Stats.
- Choose to import stats from a file and pick the Lockerbook file (it ends in
.txt). - Review the numbers, then Calculate Team Totals → Publish.
The file contains jersey numbers and stats only, with no names. For soccer it includes:
- Field stats: minutes, goals, assists, shots, shots on goal, penalty kicks made and attempted, game-winning goals, yellow and red cards. It also includes steals and corner kicks when you track them.
- Goalkeeping: minutes (with overtime minutes listed separately), goals against, saves, shots on goal faced, penalty kicks faced and saved, shutouts, and win, loss or tie.
Uploading again later updates the same stats.
Getting steals and corner kicks into MaxPreps
- Steals: tap Steal on your team's pad and pick the player.
- Corner kicks: turn on Edit Team → Track Corner Kick Takers. The Corner button then asks who took it. Corner kicks go to MaxPreps only when every corner in the game has a player.
Option B — Entry sheet
- Tap Copy Entry Sheet or Share / Print Entry Sheet.
- On MaxPreps → Enter Stats, type each player's numbers. The sheet uses MaxPreps' groups: - Field stats: MIN, G, A, SH, SOG, PKM, PKA, GWG, YC, RC, plus STL and CK when tracked - Goaltending: MIN, OT, GA, SV, SOG, PKS, PKA, SO, and the decision
- Calculate Team Totals → Publish.
Rosters
